While community development provides a meaningful way for us to demonstrate the love of Christ, it is not our ultimate goal. Our mission—and our highest priority—remains the same: making disciples of Jesus Christ. Every project, program, and partnership exists to support that purpose, helping people encounter Christ, grow in their faith, and become lifelong followers of Him.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20
These are among the final words Jesus spoke to His disciples before His ascension. He did not deliver this command to a room full of preachers, teachers, and missionaries. He gave it to ordinary men and women, like us, who had walked with Him, learned from Him, and witnessed His power firsthand.
Jesus’ command to baptize and teach reminds us that disciple-making is relational and ongoing. It is not merely a single moment of conversion but a lifelong journey of growth, obedience, and transformation. This is the heart of missions and the foundation of cross-cultural ministry: building relationships that are deep enough to point people to Christ and walk alongside them as they follow Him.
